LG Elec says can win market share from Motorola
It is pinning hopes on premium models such as "Viewty" while also trying to expand in fast-growing emerging markets. On the other hand, Motorola has been losing market share to rivals such as Nokia <NOK1V.HE> and Samsung Electronics Co Ltd <005930.KS> after failing to come up with a strong successor to the Razr phone, its last blockbuster. The Oregon Humane Society is looking for great pictures of cats, dogs, birds, rabbits, horses and other pets for its 17th annual Fuzzy, Furry and Feathered Friends Photo Contest. The contest is open until May 31, 2008. Winners will see photos of their pets published in the full-color OHS Magazine and will also receive great prizes from Pro Photo Supply and Canon. Prizes will be awarded for the best photos in the following categories: Top Dog, Top Cat, Top Other Animal (rabbit, bird, etc.), Funniest photo, Child with Pet, Me & My Pet, Editor’s Choice, and Grand Prize. "Me & My Pet" is a new category for 2008, and focuses on adults posing with their favorite furry or feathered friend. Life Support is a conventional drama looking at the HIV/AIDS crisis facing America's Black community. The film star Queen Latifah as a reformed crack addict and HIV sufferer who's making amends with her family and herself by running for a HIV outreach centre. Nelson George's social cause soap was based on his HIV positive sister Andrea Williams and has a simple message – denial isn't an option. This is rammed home hard as every character has a link to the virus and many scenes take place in the support group where women discuss coping with day to day living, such as how to tell a new partner you're positive and the benefits of condoms for girls. The female centric melodrama revolves around Latifah's Ana, a hard nose ‘my way or the highway' type, desperate to regain the love of the teenage daughter Kelly (Rachel Nicks) she neglected when she was a user.
